FAQ
- My crankbait has expanded and the finish is cracked.
- Heat caused the lure to expand and the finish to crack. Keep your lures away from high heat.
- My bill broke off or my lure broke in half.
- A plastic lure is more susceptible to breaking when the temperature is cold, say fifty degrees or less. If you “slap” the lure on the water to clear grass or an obstruction on the lure itself you could fracture the lure. The lure could break then or later when you have a five pounder in a tournament. Always check for breaks after hitting something with the lure like the windshield, trolling motor, outboard motor or the side of the boat.
- What type of hook does Norman use?
- Gelcote lures have VMC black nickel cone cut vanadium trebles. The Norman standard line have VMC bronze cone cut hooks. Both are super sharp.
- My crankbait will not run true.
- See the Tune a Crankbait section.
- My suspending lure will not suspend.
- Water temperature dictates whether a lure suspends. Norman suspending models are weighted so they will not sink in water temperature of 40° F or more. In temperatures above forty you may have to weight the lures with lead tape or wire. A fast way to add weight is by attaching a tube weight or bass casting sinker with an eyelet onto the front split ring along with the hook. Cut the weight down with a pair of pliers until the lure suspends.
- Is the Tournament Cull System (TCS) water proof?
- The TCS is designed using water proof materials. The TCS is made to be used inside your live well and will not rust.
- Does Norman Lures have a pro staff or a field staff?
- We greatly appreciate everyone who fishes with our product but we do not employ a pro staff or field staff.
- Can I buy lure bodies or components from Norman Lures?
- We only sell packaged, finished products.
- What is the pull rate of a Speed Clip?
- The standard size Speed Clip (½" long) is rated for twenty five pounds of pull. The Magnum Speed Clip (7/8" long) is rated for fifty pounds of pull.
